the impact of technology and competition on the provision of
high quality domestic content programs, and explored the impact
of technological convergence on fee-to-air (FTA) operations.
Major tasks include: analysis of the effect of technological
evolution such as cable TV, satellite TV, broadband technology
and the Internet on the current FTA arrangements; assessment of
costs and benefits of free entry: unrestricted numbers of FTA,
cable and satellite, and datacasters; and examination of the
impact of competition on FTAs’ conversion to digital
broadcasting. |
