In
this project Tasman had the central role of advising on private
sector participation in the water sector. This role
included assessing the existing economic, legal and regulatory
structures and proposing new arrangements aimed at facilitating
greater involvement of the private sector in financing,
construction and management of infrastructure projects.
The water supply system in Jakarta was established on a zonal basis. Tasman, therefore,
investigated the potential for having a number of private sector
concessions involving public ownership but with private
management within the city of Jakarta.
