Description of Project
|
|
|
This project, for the
Asian Development Bank, involved analysis of the impact of
fiscal decentralization at the subnational government level by
assessing the financial and public service profiles of nine
districts and three provinces in the periods before and after
decentralization occurred. The team also prepared detailed
fiscal profiles for all districts before and after
decentralization so as to analyze the impact of decentralization
on regions’ budgets and social sector investments across
Indonesia. The aim of the project was to support regional
fiscal management and help identify areas for further capacity
building work for the Ministry of Finance as part of its ongoing
efforts to improve intergovernmental fiscal relations. The
project culminated in a series of workshops and seminars across
the involved provinces and in Jakarta to discuss the findings of
the field work and identify policy objectives for the future. |
