Cost Benefit Analysis - infrastructure

We have extensive experience in the application of cost benefit analysis to assess government policy and the viability of development projects, with extensive experience in developing quantitative economic models to underpin this work. Examples of some of our areas of work are:

  • Costs and benefits of proposed projects - eg in gas, electricity, water, transport, road and other infrastructure sectors;

  • Access regimes for power transmission lines, gas and water/wastewater pipelines, natural monopoly assets

  • Lowering cost of capital through regulatory reform - reduced tariff and governmental uncertainty

  • Development of frameworks for assessment of environmental costs;

  • Assessing the net costs and benefits (both qualitative and quantitative) of legislative restrictions on competition; and

  • Guidelines to assist local governments to apply rudimentary cost benefit analysis principles to local laws.
